Adult Learning Centre launches new website The Adult Learning Centre, run by Literacy North Halton, has launched its new website, www.literacynh.org, which provides up-to-date information to clients, volunteers and donors. At the end of 2010 Literacy North Halton changed its organizational name to Adult Learning Centre to better reflect the type of programs being offered by this local grass roots charitable organization. Dympna Dewar, Executive Director of the Adult Learning Centre, says "now we are under the umbrella of Employment Ontario we have established firm partnerships with local agencies and truly offer custom-designed programming incorporating both literacy and computer training." The resources library and e-learning opportunities for students are expanding, thanks to funds raised through fundraising events and support from United Way and other local donors. The Adult Learning Centre offers a complete range of adult upgrading programs from the most basic level of reading and writing through to college entrance.
