Kim Hadfield of Halton Paranormal Group displays a photo taken of the windows at the Barber Mill on Maple at River Drive. The right window appears to have a man's face, and the other shows a shadow of a head. Hadfield and her group have seen the face on the right on two separate occasions. She believes it's the ghost of Robert Barber, one of the Barber brothers who founded the mill in 1837. In addition to photographing the faces, she has recordings of whispers inside the mill. And lately, the Campbellville resident has been visiting the Barber Mill ruins at the corner of Maple Avenue and River Drive, for the sole purpose of contacting and recording any paranormal activity. An investigator with the Halton Paranormal Group, she first visited the old mill in March of this year, during the day. "I could feel there was some activity there," she said. "Paranormal activity doesn't only happen at night like the movies show-- it's all the time. The only benefit to visiting places like that at night is that you can record the activity better with a camera." During that first visit, Hadfield left a hidden recorder in the mill for some time, hidden so the kids who frequent the buildings wouldn't bother it. What she came back with was quite interesting. "It (the recorder) picked up some really interesting EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) in that building. There were several whispers and what sounded like filing cabinet drawers slamming shut," said Hadfield. "I know the place was totally vacant during that time. "I shared the recording with the others in the group and in May, we came back at night to see if we could catch anything on our cameras," continued Hadfield. "One of the investigators recorded a whisper that sounded like `Help me,' and they had a couple photos with a man's face in the window and another window had a shadow of a man. We'd take a photo then take another right away from the very same spot, and the man was in one photo, but not See PARANORMAL, pg. 3 Vi s i t o u r s h o w r o o m Now Available on 2011 LD Trucks · your window & door professionals · 341 Guelph St., Unit 3 Georgetown 905.873.0236 www.buy-wise.ca info@buy-wise.ca · awarded readers choice 16 times · - - Lease rates from 7e HANDLE ALL INSURANCE work. 0.8% sTruck Accessories s5PHOLSTEry s(Eavy %QUIPMENT 'LASS s7INDow 4INTING 354 Guelph Street, Georgetown (905) 873-1655
