20 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, August 18, 2011 New exhibit opens at Williams Mill; meet the artist Saturday The Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre in Glen Williams will be featuring guest artist Heather Kocsis in a solo show running until September 11, in the gallery. Kocsis graduated from Queen's University with an Honours BFA degree. She was artistin-residence at KOR Gallery in Kitchener where she developed her current process of artmaking. Using reclaimed wood, Kocsis creates three dimensional assemblages depicting architectural elements. Kocsis's work has been described by Marshall Ward in Echo Newsweekly as "possessing the subject matter of photojournalism, the composition of paintings and the tactile quality of sculpture." A meet-the-artist reception will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2-5 p.m. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 12-5 p.m.
