Submitted photo GLT to present Studio Shows Sept. 8-10 By ROXANNE THORNTON Metroland Media Group Georgetown Little Theatre Productions Inc. will be presenting its second annual The Studio Shows on Sept. 8, 9, 10, at 8 p.m. at 33 Stewarttown Rd. in Georgetown. You certainly don't want to miss these three wonderful gems. The opening play, Time Flies, by David Ives and directed by Pamela Niesiobedzki-Curtis, is a new take on wildlife programs, from the wildlife's point of view. Two lonely but sweet young mayflies meet and really hit it off. Unfortunately, Horace (William Kutarna) and May (Rebecca Reid) watch a David Attenborough (Alex Kanarek) nature program and have some rude awakenings about the real nature of their lives. The second play, I'm Herbert, by Robert Anderson and directed by Virginia Bancur is a comedic venture into old age. It is about two seniors (Margaret Brady, Mark Tiller) sitting on a porch and talking. Each has had one or more previous marriages and perhaps a few flings, but they are so hazy as to the details that they don't always know who the other one is. The third play is from the Theatre of the Absurd and contains mature language and subject matter. It is called Placid Ends At Mothballed Beginnings and is written and directed by Ian O'Brien. Three pairs: Stern (Jeremy Lunn) and Turn (Nevin Ameli); Trake (Mikayla Legolas-Eastman) and Drell (Cain Humeniuk); Grie (Jessica Watson) and Fer ( Ryan Trumpa) and their god (Aidan Hammond) inhabit an area as close to nowhere as possible. In here they suffer and mourn in complete and chilling isolation, while the deity feeds on what morsels of emotion it can gather from them. Come out and enjoy an evening of adventure and laughter. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets may be purchased at the door for $10 or seats may be reserved by phoning The Studio, 905-877-3422.
