The bridge, that would span the green space south of Argyll Rd. and north of 10 Sideroad, would link the planned development west of the green space to the existing neighbourhood on the east side. Silvana Hollett, a Danby Rd. resident and spokesperson for the group, said she has collected a petition signed by 108 people opposed to the bridge. She said the residents want Danby Rd. to end where it currently does. Some residents weren't aware a bridge was planned, and some others believed it would be built much later. "We want the road to end there," said Hollett. "They're going to congest that road and create all that traffic." Photo by Ron Stiel Driver charged after passengers critically injured in crash A 22-year-old Brampton man is facing numerous charges, including impaired driving, following an early morning crash Friday on Winston Churchill Boulevard that sent two passengers to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Halton Regional Police were called to the single vehicle crash, south of 10 Sideroad, at 2:52 a.m. A Honda, operated by a 22-year-old Brampton man, was southbound, when he lost control on a curve and crashed head-on into a large tree. The driver was taken by ambulance to Milton District Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, then released to the custody of police where he was arrested. Two male passengers, aged 23 and 24, were taken by ambulances to Georgetown Hospital to be stabilized. Two air ambulances were then called in to transport the men-- one to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and the other to Hamilton General Hospital. Both are listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Winston Churchill Blvd. was closed for six hours while members of the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) collected evidence. The driver has been charged with two counts each of impaired operation causing bodily harm, driving over 80mg in 100ml of blood causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. Charged is Patrick Egan.
