Mom grateful for help 11 Independent & Free Press, Thursday, September 22, 2011 Boy, 3, escapes serious injury after being struck by car Halton Police report a three-yearold Georgetown boy was hit by a car about 8:30 a.m. Friday at Eaton St. and Huffmann Dr. in Georgetown. Police said the boy's was taken by ambulance to Georgetown Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries. At press time yesterday (Wednesday) they didn't have any further details on the accident or the boy's condition, however, in an email to The Independent & Free Press, the boy's mother said, "they were very lucky everything turned out the way it did". She also thanked everyone who came to their aid and urged drivers in school zones to slow down and be extra cautious.
