RIGHT: As part of the United Way's 25th anniversary, an extra $25,000 in special one-time funding was given to 12 local agencies, including S.T.R.I.D.E., Georgetown Bread Basket, North Halton Distress Centre, Girls Inc., Support and Housing Halton, Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK), St. John Ambulance, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Halton, Literacy North Halton, Acton Foodshare, Acclaim Health and Community Living North Halton. Representatives from these agencies were on hand to accept their cheques from United Way past president Jim Lindsay (seated, far right). The United Way of Halton Hills continued its 25th anniversary celebrations on September 17 at the annual President's Ball at The Club at North Halton. The sold-out event included an extensive silent auction, a delicious meal and live music from Laura T. and Jazz Band. In addition to the usual funding, the United Way provided special one-time donations to 12 local agencies to help mark the United Way's 25th anniversary in Halton Hills.
