The region commissioned Ohsweken artist David General (left in inset) to produce the work, named His Messenger - Our Prayers, that was cast into bronze by Artcast using the "lost wax" duplication process, in which the wax is steamed out of the mold and replaced with bronze. Eagles are considered the Creator's messenger in indigenous cultures and General hopes that "all peoples-- native and non-native-- realize we sometimes we need divine intervention to get the most out of respect, wisdom good minds and co-operation.
