Photo by Ted Brown Norval residents to have say on proposed quarry Norval residents will get a chance to have their say on a proposed shale quarry planned on the edge of the hamlet at a public meeting next Monday. Brampton Brick requires a zoning amendment to allow shale quarry on a 34.9 hectare (97-acre) property on Old Pinecrest Rd. and Winston Churchill Blvd. The meeting, hosted by the City of Brampton, will be held Oct. 17, at · · the Peel Regional Police Association Meeting Hall, 10675 Mississauga Rd. Brampton (two kilometres north of Hwy 7). An open house will be held 6-7 p.m. with a staff presentation at 7 p.m., followed by public input. The findings a Brampton-initiated peer review of the Brampton Brick's technical submissions will be presented. As well, City of Brampton consul- tants, focusing on the social impact of the proposal, will be in the audience to listen to affected residents and businesses. Town of Halton Hills planning staff will also be attending this meeting. Brampton Brick has been appealed this project to the Ontario Municipal Board.
