The Twisters traveled to Mentor, Ohio for a pre-season tune-up tourney in the 16-team, Tier II under-19 division and in the final they faced the Alaska All-Stars, who hadn't given up a single goal through their opening four matches. "We knew it would be a tough game, but we used our speed and tenacity to win it," said head coach Andy Broadbent. "It was a complete team effort." The All-Stars would score 32 seconds into the contest but that would be it for the American squad, as North Halton received outstanding goaltending from Hannah Goss, strong defensive play and a pair of goals by Cassie Broadbent in a 2-1 victory. The Twisters defeated teams from Michigan, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Burlington to reach the final. Offensive highlights in the low-scoring tournament included three goals and two assists from Sarah Olsen, two goals for Delaney McQueen and two points by Aleesa Pretto. The stingy defence corps was led by Erika Bradley and Madi Jenkins.
