The 19-year-old from London was named first star of the contest, played in front of many scouts during the league's Governors Showcase weekend. The Peterborough Petes' draft pick has been scored on just 10 times over the Raiders' past half-dozen starts, carrying a 1.86 goals-against average, which is second best in the OJHL. He posted his second shutout of the season Saturday in a 4-0 home win over Burlington, blocking 19 shots. Georgetown led 1-0 after 40 minutes on a goal by Patrick Megannety before rookie Luke Shiplo, Brock Labelle and Apperson found the mark to secure the victory. The Raiders' streak will be put to the test Thursday in Newmarket against the Hurricanes, who lead the OJHL's North Division with a 10-1-2 record. Georgetown is also set to play host to the Hamilton Red Wings Saturday at the Alcott Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m. The 4-7-1 Wings were shut out in three straight games last week. Hands up! The host Bearcats swept the match in straight sets to improve their record to 5-2 this season in the HSSAA Tier II Division. Rain forced the cancellation of Saturday's third-place game so Canada and the U.S. shared the bronze medals.
