A low pressure system from the southern United States was expected to bring moderate amounts of precipitation. The rain was expected to become heavy at times Wednesday evening for south-central Ontario and taper off this morning (Thursday) with lighter rain continuing. The forecast calls for up to 50 mm of rain by the time the system leaves the region. The forecasted precipitation may result in some minor flooding of low lying areas along the watercourse in the local water· · Areas adjacent to watercourses, especially near culverts and intake structures, may become dangerous because of the high flows and should be avoided. The CVC warns parents and caregivers to alert children of these dangers and avoid areas with high flows. CVC will continue to closely monitor weather and water levels in the watershed. A High Water Safety Bulletin is issued when potential conditions exist that pose a risk to personal safety. It is issued when streams are at or near bank full levels, when ice conditions are unsafe, or when stream banks are icy, soft, and/or slippery.
