Thanks For Lyons' Donation of $260,000 Last month, the Georgetown Hospital Foundation received one of the largest single donations ever made to the Hospital, a bequest of over $260,000 from Mr. John Lyons, who passed away in August 2010. Mrs. Lyons, her daughter Shelley, her sons David and Don, and Don's wife Carol visited the Foundation office to deliver the bequest in person and express their appreciation for Georgetown Hospital (GH) and that they would be able to support it in this way with an astounding financial contribution. On behalf of the staff, physicians and volunteers at the Hospital and every community member served by GH, the Foundation would like to extend sincere thanks to the Lyons family for their overwhelming generosity. The gift of $260,885 will go toward the Foundation's Investing in Care Close to Home campaign that will help fund the construction of a new ER, the acquisition of a CT Scanner and the redevelopment of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Georgetown Hospital.
