In Focus, November, 2011 8 Tree Planting Festival Dozens of people came out on a chilly Saturday morning to help plant new trees in Glen Williams Park during the first ever Giving Back to the Glen Tree Planting Festival. Hosted by the Town of Halton Hills, P.O.W.E.R. and Credit Valley Conservation, the event saw 110 trees planted along the banks of the Credit River. On their breaks, the planters warmed up with hot chocolate and coffee while checking out the wildlife displays and wild birds. Thanks to the success of the Glen Williams event, Credit Valley Conservation hopes to make the tree planting festival an annual occurrence in other local communities.
