26 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, November 3, 2011 Dinner, bazaar approaching fast By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre We had a full house for the Alia/Tan Jay Fall fashion Show. Thanks to all who took part in any way. Watch for the ladies to sport their new fashions! What better place to do that then at our annual Christmas dinner to be held on Tuesday, December 13. Bruce Cunnington will once more be serving a delicious hot turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Ticket prices are $20 and are available at reception. This event is very popular. Best to get your seat at a table early. I understand the band and drama club will entertain. The Christmas Bazaar, Saturday, November 19, is just two weeks away! They are looking for donations of baked goods and new items for the penny table. As always volunteers are needed. Come out, and after shopping in the bazaar, have lunch in the tea room. For a loonie a ticket, 50/50 tickets will be available. Doors open at 10 a.m. Much interest has been shown by many to see the Justus Choir perform SENIORS LIFESTYLES their Christmas Show at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga on Friday, December 9. Terri has made arrangements with Tyler Bus Lines to hire a school bus to transport those interested in attending. Your cost of $30 will include the bus ride and ticket to the concert. Payment is due when you sign up at Reception. Your new HillsView for November, December, and January is now available. Other than reading my column, it is a good way to keep abreast of upcoming events. Hot lunches are now available at the Centre on Wednesdays. These are prepared by Shelley Lindsay and the cost of $5 will include coffee/tea as well. The menu for each Wednesday can be found on Page 8 of the HillsView. Sounds good! Due to the popularity of the upcoming Murder/Mystery Dinner more seats have been added. It is a night of fun and well worth the cost. The date is January 21, 2012. As I have said before, and say again "No couch potatoes at our Centre!" Grandmas times two At Halton Hills Christian School Grandparents Day, Eva Visser, 6, was lucky to have two grandmothers as Jaye Shipley (centre) of Erin and Janie Visser of Georgetown enjoyed spending some time with her as she showed off her school work.
