There were some lovely warm fuzzy coats, plus some very fashionable outfits to carry everyone from fall into winter. Jane McAllister won the 50/50 and she will now have an extra $65 to spend. That will help pay for the outfit she couldn't resist. It was a very busy Friday lunch last week. Thirty-five members enjoyed the salad, soup and an assortment of sandwiches followed by pie, fresh fruit and ice cream. Where else could you get such a delicious meal for $7? We welcomed Marion Pascoe's daughters Lynne, Norma and Gayle to the lunch. They placed three more leaves on the branches of our Looking to the Future trees in member of their mother. They were placed closed to her husband Tom's leaf placed there by his grandchildren and children last year. We are starting to plan the Christmas Bazaar. There is a list up for donations needed for the lunch. If you can help, please put your name on the list. Marion Storey and Marj McDonough were busy making two beautiful baskets for the Christmas Bazaar draw. Anyone who wins them will be very pleased as they are filled to overflowing with lovely items. There is a four-week free lecture series featuring Marie Ramsay, a certified kinesiologist, whose prime interests are chronic disease and injury rehabilitation through therapeutic exercise. The topics are one hour in length and will run from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The third on Nov. 16 will be Chronic Conditions of Aging: Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis and Diabetes. The lectures are open to all interested persons-- not just Centre members. Did you know there is now a suggestion box at the Centre? Please feel free to put any comments or suggestions in it (signed of course). Please do not use it for urgent things that need immediate attention, as the box is not opened every day. Eileen Dix asked me to mention that the hiking has now changed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays. Barb Weldon won the 50/50 recently. She won $145. Don't spend it all at once Barb! The 50/50 was not won this week, so the total should be around $200.
