HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE Tuesday, December 6, 2011 The Independent & Free Press Special pullout section 8 Pages Hills light up in Acton, Georgetown The fourth annual Light Up the Hills ceremony was held Thursday at both Dominion Gardens in Georgetown and the Acton Sports Park, with thousands turning out for the holiday season kick-off event. Among the colourful characters turning out in Georgetown were (far left) a Christmas tree and gingerbread man while one of the more colourful displays was this wreath (above). Acton's Tree of Hope shone (left) brightly with more than 2,000 LED lights adorning its branches. In total, more than 200 trees in both parks have been decorated with 50,000 LED lights. The display runs nightly until the new year.
