How do I express the loss of self for so many years? To ten years of grief, tears, rebuilding and growth The evolvement of life Not so simple Not so pure We had to find a way to be both separate and together While negotiating a new dynamic of being worlds apart But because of you I know of the power of love to transform And transcend all boundaries. Being the proof that out of chaos comes great awareness When one fights back with surrender, dignity and grace There are no words to express how grateful I am To be your mother You are the light that guides me out of the darkness Forever being that fire in my belly That has ALWAYS pushed me to get up Over and Over and Over again Merry Christmas Pete I miss you Love Mom Robert D. Monty and Marvin are double the fun By JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society One word sums up residents Monty and Marvin-- FUN! Double the fun because we want to place them together, which might be challenging as these boys are big dogs. Personality-plus Monty is a chocolate Lab who will do anything for a tennis ball and Marvin is a German Shepherd dog who will do anything for food. These boys are fun loving playboys of the physical variety and are always ready for anything. Monty reacts with great excitement when walk/playtime arrives which gets Marvin all worked up too. Pent-up energy especially in our larger dogs is a matter of being confined for many hours. Once the boys come under control they will wait for the pen doors to be opened and leashes are clipped on, although they are quivering with pent-up emotion and raring to go. These young dogs need an experienced owner, who will be the alpha pack leader and give them firm, consistent instruction because they do want to learn and are very smart. Personality-wise, gorgeous Monty is friendly and outgoing, and handsome Marvin (Marv) is shy initially and will take his cues from Monty. Once comfortable with the new person Marvin drops the shyness and comes for head and body rubs. Monty was obviously a ball player in another life because the tennis ball is his pride and joy and is always the first thing he looks for when play- Tom Allen muttleycrew.ca 905-299-1489 INSURANCE F Pet of the Month time rolls around. In summary, the boys need some refresher training but we feel once bonded they will probably just follow you around the property with tennis ball breaks of course! We think Monty and Marvin are water lovers as they were found soaking wet enjoying a pond with no owner in sight and were brought to the Shelter. Marv would probably survive without Monty, but Monty was very upset when they were separated for Marvin's successful dental surgery and he could not see him for a few days. Yes, there is a whole lot of dog here but for the right family, watching these two attractive, intelligent boys blossom into the great dogs we know they are would be rewarding. If you have room in your heart and home for Monty and Marvin and are prepared to spend the necessary time in the short term to get to know and guide them, you will have two wonderful family members that you will be very proud of. Anyone wanting to come and play ball please call the Shelter at 519-833-2387 or email adoptions@uppercredit. com. Monty and Marvin will be oh so happy to see you. We little knew that morning, God was going to call your name In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone For part of us went with you, The day God called you home You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide And though we cannot see you, You are always by our side Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
