Moving and Storage Services GOEBEL, John It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Goebel on January 23rd, 2012. John was born in 1930 in Siegen Germany and came to Canada when he was 21 years old. He met the love of his life about 1 year after he arrived and in 1954 asked Mary Wood to become Mary Goebel. She said yes and has happily remained his wife for 57 years. Most of their married life was spent in Georgetown, Ontario but both John and Mary moved to British Columbia in 2006. Georgetown however, has always been the place John and Mary have considered home. John is survived by his wife Mary, who lives in Vernon B.C., their daughters Julie (Steve) and Lauren (Doug) also in B.C. and their son Jeff, in Ontario. He is also survived by his much loved grand daughter Mykensie and his brother Charles in Ohio and sister Renate in Germany. We will all miss this man who loved family more then anything else in life. John's wish was to have his ashes returned to Georgetown when he passed. Mary is unfortunately unable to travel, so there will be just a small family celebration of John's life in B.C., before moving him to his final resting place in Georgetown, Ontario. In lieu of flowers or donations the family would love to receive any special anecdotes or memories of John from his many friends in Georgetown.
