Pair charged in crime spree A Georgetown woman, and man of no fixed address, are facing charges in connection with a recent two-week crime spree in Halton. Halton Police were called to investigate a robbery at a medical centre on Laurier Ave. in Milton Jan. 23 where a man had been discovered by employees in the staff area. When he was confronted, he showed them the handle of what was believed to be a knife. Employees attempted to stop the man, but he fled after taking a wallet. Police investigation led officers to identify two suspects they believe were responsible for the Laurier Ave. incident and several others including: · The theft of an electronic safe while an employee was distracted at Pet Valu on Guelph St., Georgetown Jan. 16 · The theft of a purse from the Royal LePage office on Main St., Milton Jan. 23 · The theft of a purse from a Main St. Milton dentist office Jan. 23 · The theft of money from an employee's purse at a Bronte St., Milton dental office Jan. 23 · The theft of several spools of copper wire (valued at approximately $3,000) from Rona on Speers Rd. in Oakville Feb. 4. Employees attempted to stop the suspect who fled in a vehicle, running over an employee's foot. Two people were charged after police searched a Halton Hills home and found a weapon believed to be used in the Laurier Ave. robbery and some stolen property. Charged with six counts of break, enter and theft, two counts of break, enter with intent and two counts of robbery is Bradley James King, 33, of no fixed address. When police arrived they found a pickup truck being driven erratically. The lights and siren in the cruiser were activated to pull the driver over but the vehicle failed to stop. The driver continued to drive erratically. Police say the driver lost control and drove onto the boulevard at Chelvin Dr. and Fagan Dr., hitting a stop sign and mailbox. The vehicle continued eastbound on Fagan Dr. then mounted the curb on Chelvin. Police followed the vehicle to Delrex and Mountainview Rd. where the pursuit was discontinued for public safety. The vehicle is described as a dark green or grey Chevy Silverado with a partial plate of 939 or 959. Further investigation revealed the accused was also linked to a Jan. 23 break and enter into a Main St., Acton apartment where $1,000 dollars in tools were taken. Charged with three counts of break and enter and commit theft and possession of break and enter tools is Clifford Williams, 41.
