Special Easter events Free Good Friday Community Dinner at GAC Georgetown Alliance Church is hosting a free Community Dinner for everyone on Good Friday April 6. "For us Good Friday represents a day of ultimate sacrifice," says Pastor Bob Vetro. "In keeping with the spirit of Good Friday, we recognize that there are a wide range of needs in our community. We hope that many will be able to join us at this Community Dinner." Residents have a new means of engaging the Easter story this Holy Week. The congregations of St. Paul's United, Milton and Norval United, Norval are teaming up to offer "Every Breath We Drew" a Holy Week worship installation. Worship installations are a new form of Christian practice, influenced by post-modern and emerging church movements. There are no preaching ministers, no singing choir, no bulletins or announcements or order of service. Instead, an installation provides interactive prayer stations, multi-media experiences, community art projects and guided meditations, all in a contemplative and artistically engaging space. The Recognizing that transportation may be difficult for some on a statutory holiday, the church is also offering a free shuttle service.
