The bulk of those tickets were given out in Milton and Halton Hills where 103 provincial offence notices were issued. That compares to 63 in Oakville and 32 in Burlington. In Milton and Halton Hills officers also issued 121 warnings. In Oakville there were 43 and Burlington 22, for a total of 186. Police took a multi-faceted approach during the campaign assigning all three District Response Units, uniform patrol officers and volunteers to both educate and enforce the importance of the proper use of seatbelts, child car seats and child booster seats. Halton residents typically have a high seat belt compliance rate, however there are still some who risk their safety and their lives by not buckling up. "Our police service is committed to enhancing road safety and we will continue to education and enforce seatbelt compliance in an effort to reduce personal injury and fatal motor vehicle collisions." During the year Halton Police focus on traffic safety through enforcement, education and liaising with Halton municipalities on engineering issues. · Car seat numbers pg. 3 Stage set for AHS production Acton High School's production of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe will be performed May 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available in the school library or at the door ($15).
