The gala will raise funds for local environmental initiatives and takes place at Rattlesnake Point Golf and Country Club at 5407 Regional Road 25 in Milton. Proceeds from the 2012 Conservation Gala will support Credit Valley Conservation's Conservation Youth Corps (CYC) program that allows high school students to help the environment by planting trees, constructing habitat and maintaining trails and Conservation Halton's Mountsberg Raptor Centre that provides care and shelter for 30 native hawks, owls and eagles. Last year the gala raised more than $105,000 toward valuable conservation projects and initiatives of both organizations. In just six years the local community has helped raise more than $600,000 in support of the two Foundations' work to protect and enhance the natural environment for present and future generations.
