Popular plant sale moves to new location Members of Acton Horticultural Society (from left) Wayne Stewart, Ruth Young, Norine Van Leeuwen, Deanna Stewart and Joe Van Leeuwen, have been busy leading up to their annual plant sale, which will be held Saturday, May 19, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, at Churchill Road and Hwy 7. The sale starts at 8 a.m., and runs until they are sold out of plants. This year, there will be two huge 8-foot high spikes offered for sale-- anyone interested in them should really bring a truck. Participate in the Georgetown Purina Walk for Dog Guides on May 27, and help provide dog guides to people with disabilities in your community. The Walk will take place at the Georgetown Lions Hall on Mill St. (behind Memorial Arena), with registration opening at 9 a.m. and the Walk starting at 9:30 a.m. There is no registration fee and 100 per cent of the funds raised will go towards raising, training and placing dog guides at no cost to those in need.
