Legion closer to mural target after Town donation Town adds $5,000 to Legion/BIA campaign for military mural The Georgetown Legion/BIA Mural Committee is one step closer to reaching its $30,000 target after the Town of Halton Hills recently presented the group with a donation of $5,000 to kick-start their fundraising campaign. In an effort to beautify downtown Georgetown and to honour the military history, a committee comprised of members of the BIA and Branch 120 Royal Canadian Legion, with some interested citizens, have banded together to form a `mural committee'. The mural will depict the Town's military history from all arenas of war as well as peacekeeping missions. It will be painted on special boards that will be attached directly to the wall, and will be displayed on the Mill Street side of the Royal Canadian Legion building. The goal is to have the mural completed by October 2012, and be unveiled for Remembrance Day.
