This is the concept of the Georgetown cruise night car show, running through mid May to the end of September, organized by dedicated car people with the help of business owners in and around Georgetown. Starting in 2000 at Halton Hills Tire, the late Scott Moore started the cruise night and shortly after Lee Martin , Mike and Lynne Boyd joined to help organize the event. The organizers were amazed and deeply appreciative of the local support received from classic car owners in and around Georgetown. Due to overwhelming participation it was decided to move the cruise in 2002 to a larger location near the Boston Pizza on highway 7 , enjoying 8 seasons at that location.. The last 2 cruise seasons were located at the Georgetown Market Place on Guelph St. Thursday evenings this summer we will be celebrating our 12th.Year cruise season with a new location at Nashville North, 530 Guelph Street, Hwy 7. at Winston Churchill Blvd. We are recognized as one of the region's greatest summer cruising events celebrating the classic car hobby. During the evening until 9 pm, car owners and spectators listen to great oldies cruise tunes and for added listening enjoyment participants are reminded and informed of upcoming classic car events. As the evening proceeds, car folks enjoy marvelling at wonderful automobiles and enjoying food venues surrounding the event. The big winner at the end of each evening is the Georgetown Hospital Foundation, with over $2,500.00 being donated each year for the past eleven years.
