Key Map: Location of Subject Lands Town ends deal with Bennett Pl. residents By CYNTHIA GAMBLE Staff Writer Town council has approved a staff recommendation to cease a road agreement with residents of Bennett Place. The decision will be ratified at the June 11 council meeting. The residents will be advised the Town will terminate the road maintenance services on the private road in Glen Williams, effective June 30, 2012. The Town required all nine property owners to enter an agreement by April 5, but only eight of the nine responded. The agreement would have required the residents to pay for maintenance service provided by the Town, with the charge for the owner's portion of the annual cost, plus any additional services requested, registered on the property title. The agreement would have been included in any future sale of the property. The Town also required indemnity from each owner respecting any liability that may arise during the agreement. The residents had been given additional time to find a solution, but failed. Staff will invoice the residents for 2012 services to date. LOCATION: Council Chambers Civic Centre 1 Halton Hills Dr. Halton Hills Town of Halton Hills Council will hold a statutory public meeting to discuss draft Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments pertaining to automotive commercial uses in Georgetown. The draft Official Plan Amendment would; · Add automotive commercial uses as a permitted use in the Georgetown Community Node - Secondary Commercial Sub-Area designation. · Re-designate the property at 29 Todd Road from General Employment Area to Secondary Commercial Sub-Area to permit the expansion of an existing auto dealership onto an adjacent property. In addition to the main objectives summarized above, this Amendment also proposes to include policies that enable Council to waive the requirements for a Comprehensive Development Plan in the Georgetown Community Node Secondary Commercial Sub-Area and Mixed Use Sub-Area. Waiving this requirement would be subject to a number of criteria, some of which include demonstrating that the development will contribute to the vibrancy of the area, and amongst other matters can be easily integrated with other uses. The subject lands are shown on the Key Map. The Zoning By-law Amendment proposes appropriate revisions to the Comprehensive Zoning By-law to effectively implement the amendments to the Official Plan. Following the statutory public meeting, Town staff will prepare a report to Council which will respond to oral and written comments received, and provide a final recommendation on passage of the Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments.
