GETTY, Gerald Douglas February 2nd, 1930 - July 1st, 2012 With great sadness and broken hearts, we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Gerry at his home on Sunday July 1st, 2012. Predeceased by his first wife Jeanne (Craven) and grandson, Raymond. He leaves behind his totally devoted wife of 7 years, Peggy, his three children: Doug (Patty), Jeannette and Brian (Dolly). He was a wonderful and proud grandfather to Jonathan, Carling and Brianna and great grandson Zayden. Gerry was a retired employee from Domglas, member of the Georgetown fireflies camping club and a very active lifetime member and past president of the Georgetown Optimist Club. He donated countless hours of volunteer work in his community and is fondly remembered by the many relatives and friends as a longtime resident of Georgetown. With Peggy's gentle hands and caring affection and Jeannette's continual support, Gerry was always comfortable. Thank you to Dr. Zeni and Dr. Kwan and the dedication of Eva and Eliza and the staff at ComCare. Also to Rev. Williams and the congregation of St. Andrew's Church for their thoughts and prayers. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Avenue, Georgetown, 905-877-3631 on Friday July 6th from 10 - 11 am.
