Elaina Bahm, who owns the fitness centre at Mountainview Rd. and Guelph St. with her husband Brian, said the 36-year-old Georgetown woman, who has worked there for about two years, suffered a fractured pelvis when she was struck by the vehicle. The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. Bahm, who wasn't at the business at the time, said if the employee had been at her desk (reception), "she would have been dead or seriously injured." The club's fitness director just missed being a victim as well, said Bahm, as he had dropped off groceries just seconds before at the reception desk and was at his car getting water when the collision occurred. Halton Police Sgt. Paul Davies said the employee who was injured had just stepped away from the reception desk, walked into the backroom and sat down when "in a fraction of a second the vehicle came in at a high rate of speed and demolished the office." A 36-year-old woman, an employee of the club, was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
