There's a network of natural gas pipes, telephone, hydro and television wires, as well as water and sewer connections buried underground. That's why it's the law to call before you dig. Homeowners and contractors must locate buried natural gas pipes before anyone puts a shovel in the ground. If you dig without locates, you could hurt yourself or others. You could also face expensive restoration costs and potential legal action. Ontario One Call is a free service, offered on behalf of its member utilities, including Enbridge Gas Distribution. Please call at least one week before you plan to dig. A locator will visit your property to locate and mark underground lines, and provide a sketch of any lines in your work area.
