500 cyclists to take part 9 ·The IFP· Halton Hills, Thursday, August 16, 2012 Annual MS Bike Tour to leave Acton Saturday Approximately 500 cyclists are expected to accept the challenge to ride from Acton to the University of Waterloo and back this weekend for the 2012 Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tour. Billed as North America's largest cycling series, the MS Bike Tour departs Acton's Prospect Park at 8 a.m. Saturday and covers about 150 km through Rockwood, Guelph and Rosemount before participants stay overnight at the university. The ride continues back to Acton Sunday morning and is slated to finish between noon and 2 p.m. at Prospect Park. Riders have been collecting pledges and the nationwide campaign will raise an estimated $3 million to fund crucial services for people living with MS, as well as research into the cause, treatment and cure of the unpredictable disease.
