Primrose is the first donkey that Burns rescued at her PrimRose Donkey Sanctuary, 12 years ago, when it was located north of Georgetown, now at Roseneath, Ontario. Sheila and Primrose were at the Real Canadian Superstore Monday with the Sunny Side Up Kids Club, which Avery attends, as they were running a fundraiser for the donkey sanctuary, selling baked goods and lemonade. The Sunny Side Kids Club, located at 96 McIntyre Cres., raised $300 for PrimRose Donkey Sanctuary, which is a registered charity. In addition to the money, they also collected enough Canadian Tire money to purchase a new wheelbarrow for the sanctuary. For local projects Town seeking fed grant cash By CYNTHIA GAMBLE Staff Writer Halton Hills council is applying for federal grant money to help pay for the Cultural Centre and Mold-Masters SportsPlex renovation/expansion projects. At a special council meeting last Wednesday, council authorized staff to proceed with filing applications for Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund grants, announced in late July. A council resolution of support was required before the August 24 filing deadline. The grants, if received, would lessen the amount of fundraising required for these two projects. The Cultural Centre requires a $1.076 million fundraising effort while the Halton Hills Arena Users Group promised to raise $2 million for the arena project.
