Deadline for teen band contest: Sept. 3 Teen bands from the area have will have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes at the Acton Fall Fair's Battle of the Bands on Sept. 15. Deadline to sign up for auditions is Sept. 3 at 9 p.m. Auditions will be held Sept. 5, 6 p.m. at the Dufferin Centre (Acton Agricultural Society building) in Prospect Park for any bands who have signed up to participate. Each band must consist of three or more members. Bands with only two members may apply, but will only be given a chance to audition if there are spaces available to be filled by Sept. 3. Bands must have at least one member who lives in either Acton, Erin, Rockwood, Guelph, Caledon, Eramosa or Orton. At least one or more band member must be under 18 years old. Bands must be prepared with two appropriate music selections for auditions on Sept. 5, that are acceptable for family audiences. Sets will be approximately ten to fifteen minutes long, and all music choices must be approved by Tracey at the audition.
