Amanda dreamt high and worked hard in preparation for the swim. Due to a health risk, her dream ended after three hours. We are proud of Amanda who rose more than $10,000 towards the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Her determination, strength and passion should be commended. ··· Speaking of proud, Halton Hills is very proud of Georgetown's Cristy Nurse and the Canadian women's 8s rowing team winning the silver medal at the Olympics. Even though Cristy had to sit by the sidelines with an injured back, her team spirit and Canadian pride shone through. ··· I am delighted to participate in "Council for a Cure", part of Princess Margaret's annual Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer event at Ontario Place.
