St. George's Antiques Appraisal Show is back by popular demand, Sept. 29 The Antiques Road Show is a very popular PBS television show in which participants bring their treasures and heirlooms to be viewed by all and informally appraised by experts. Once again, St. George's Anglican Church, at 60 Guelph Street, is proud to be getting its own version of this show coming to the Parish Hall on September 29, from 1-4:30 p.m. For a modest fee of $20 per item for appraisal, which also includes tea and cakes while you watch the show, or $5 for tea and cakes to just watch, you can find out what your valuables are finally worth without the expense of taking it to an estate appraiser. That being said, Century Estate Services, which is donating their services, is generously offering a two-hour consultation or official appraisal record valued at $300 to auction off during the show. The only exception to items able to be appraised will be jewelry, as special equipment is required for this, otherwise bring your silver, furniture, books, pictures or whatever heirlooms, memorabilia, collectables or treasures you are curious to know about. From past experience, a very eclectic mix of things will be brought, which adds to the fun and interest. No jewelry will be accepted. Because only 40 to 50 items will able to be appraised within the allotted time frame, please preregister by contacting Kyle Jones,905-873-2073 or pkjones@cogeco.ca. Cost is $20 per appraisal item with tea and cakes included or $5 to watch the fun and enjoy tea and cakes. Those that register are asked to please pre-pay for your time slot prior to September 29 so that an appraisal can be assured of a spot. There is a limit of two items per family for appraisal. The show will start at 1 p.m., (but start bringing your things at 12:30 p.m.), and end at around 4:30 p.m. Overflow parking is available at Georgetown high school. 23 ·The IFP· Halton Hills, Thursday, September 20, 2012 HALTON HILLS GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP 6 week group Tuesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
