- "License Plate Sales Brisk.
Helen Kirk of the Motor Vehicle Licensing Branch on Main Street South, hands a set of 1972 plates to Murray Lawton, one of the early birds who picked up the new issue shortly after they went on sale December 1.Mrs Bea Clark, who operates the local bureau, told the Herald that first day sales were down a little from last year, but on the week the plates have been going at a faster than average pace.
This year's car license number series will run from L94651 to L99999, and N1001 to N3750. The latter series will probably start around the first of February.
In recent years, local motorists have responded well to pleas to get their plates early and avoidlong line ups on the last day."
