COMMUNITY Legion to host Family Fun Day on Sunday, washer toss on Monday By Sharon Graham Acton Legion news Last Friday's dinner was great. There were 80 tickets sold for a roast beef on a bun with fries. Thank you to all of the cooks. Bill Nadeau entertained all of us from 7:30-10:30 p.m. It was a great night. Ladies Auxiliary (L.A.) Appreciation Night is this Saturday evening. There is a dance at 9 p.m. with Ronnie and the Corvairs. It is open to everyone; come out and have a good time. This Sunday is our Family Fun Day. Everyone is welcome. Come out and have a good time. We will be having washer toss on Feb.15 for those who would like to try it out. L.A. dinner on Friday, Feb. 19-- ham, scalloped potatoes, roll for $8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Cut-off date for the tickets is on Feb. 16. We will be visiting Sunnybrook Hospital on Feb. 28 and would like to see as many members as possible join us. Bus will be leaving the legion around noon. This is a chance for us to pay a visit to our veterans to thank them for their service. Remember we are hosting our first-time washer toss for Zone B7 on April 30. This is for legion members only. Registration is at 9-9:30 a.m. Start time is 10 a.m. for singles followed by doubles. The entry fee is $5 per person and $15 per pair. The signup sheet is on the board now. It should be a great day as there are a lot of our members who play washer toss and really enjoy it. Check the boards behind the bar for upcoming events. We invite people to join our legion. If you are 18 and a Canadian citizen you are eligible to join. Pick up an application at bar or at legion.ca under membership section. Every Thursday afternoon our Ladies Auxiliary have euchre at the legion; it starts at 1:30 p.m. and goes to 4 p.m. All are welcome. Come out meet new friends or visit with old ones. Feb. 21 is our Zone B7 winter social being held at Branch 486. The theme is Mardi Gras. Come dressed in a costume it is always lots of good fun.
