Stars cap off inaugural indoor season The North Halton Track and Field Club finished off its first-ever indoor season with several medal performances from 14 athletes at the Minor Track Association of Ontario's Championship Meet held at York University. The Stars placed 11th in the province, based on points, out of 42 other minor track clubs that entered the championships. The minor track team (grades 1-8) embarks on the outdoor track season starting May 1 at Georgetown District High School and new members are welcome. Submitted photo Jags skate to Burlington Cup crown Tournament MVP Lucas Peric potted the winning goal in the 3-on-3 overtime period to give Christ the King's Jaguars a 2-1 victory over Waterdown in the championship game of the Burlington Cup junior boys' hockey tournament earlier this month. A late goal by Brendan Kennedy had forced the OT period. In the semifinals, Jack Waddick posted the shutout in CtK's 5-0 trouncing of rival Georgetown. No goal scorers were provided. The Jags breezed through the preliminary round, defeating Craig Kielburger 3-0 (Adriano Mamone SO), Garth Webb 5-3 (Will White, Austin Hall G, A); and Nelson 4-2 (Lucas Peric 2G). CtK's junior boys also participated in the Provincial Cup tourney last week at York University and didn't make the playoff round.
