- Pen and ink rendering inscribed ‘Old Norval School, Norval Ontario 1840’. Frank Black decried the changes that development brought to the GTA in the 1960s and 1970s. “I am a landscape painter but the way things going around here, a few more years and no landscape will be left to paint.” He frequently painted old homes, barns and mills, many of which were later torn down, like this two room schoolhouse was in 1953.
