Three Halton Hills residents facing impaired driving charges This month, a representative at the Independent and Free Press (IFP) started a campaign solely designed to give back this holiday season. Spearheaded by the IFP's Kristie Pells, Five Ways to Give Back targets local charities and community organizations. For Remembrance Day, $400 was raised and split between the Ac- ton and Georgetown legions. Ac- cording to Dave Frost of the Georgetown Legion and Peggy Graham of the Acton Legion, the money goes a long way in the Pop- py Fund, which supports veter- ans in whatever financial endea- vours they need. On Nov. 30, Pells, along with iPro Realty sales representatives Cathy Graham-Smith and Chris- tina Bras, went to the George- town Real Canadian Superstore, where they collected $400 worth of food for the Georgetown Bread Basket (GBB) and the Acton Food Share. The food was received by Lori Brading, president of the board at the GBB. In the giving spirit, store man- ager Ian McKay offered to match the donations, totalling $800 do- nated toward the two organiza- tions. Five Ways to Give Back will continue with four more endea- vours until the end of December, including Bears That Care, where stuffed bears will be do- nated to children who visit the Georgetown Hospital; a toy drive in time for Christmas; and a year- end fundraiser for MADD. Some call it "head noises", "ear ringing," or other similar things. WHAT CAUSES IT? There are many causes; indeed almost everything that can go wrong with the ear has Tinnitus associated with it as a symptom. Things as simple as wax against the eardrum to very serious items such as tumors on the 7th facial nerve can produce Tinnitus. Meniere's disease has Tinnitus associated with it. One of the most common causes of Tinnitus is exposure to excessively loud sounds such as shooting, chain saws, rock concerts, or other loud noises.
