Contributed by OLG A Halton regional police service dog helped track down a pair of suspects late Monday evening after a vehi- cle reported stolen in Toronto was identified by an officer on patrol. The officer's vehicle was equipped with an automatic licence plate reader, which in- dicated that a 2004 Honda Ac- cord travelling on Guelph Street in Georgetown had an expired validation sticker. The suspect vehicle sped up as the cruiser approached and turned off onto some side streets in a residential neigh- bourhood in the area of Del- rex Boulevard just before midnight. The officer spotted the Honda parked in a driveway and observed two people run- ning away. Further investiga- tion revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Toronto. A perimeter was set up and a canine track was initi- ated. Service dog Nero locat- ed both suspects hiding un- der parked cars. They were arrested and held for a bail hearing. Charged with two counts of possession of property ob- tained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation is Andrew Lamore, 33, of Toronto. Ludmila Lishchenko, 31, of Innisfil is charged with two counts of possession of prop- erty obtained by crime under $5,000, breach of probation and possession of cocaine.
