Super showing by Finlayson Team of the Week The Halton Hills tyke #2 Bulldogs cap- tured the C/D Division championship at the Scott Gerrie Memorial Tournament in Fergus, edging Centre-Wellington #2 3-2 in overtime in the fi nal. To get to the fi nal, the Bulldogs defeat- ed Guelph #3 10-3, lost to Shelburne 3-2 and beat Centre-Wellington #2 5-3. After fi nishing runner-up to Oakville in the Zone 10 playdowns, the tyke #2 Bulldogs qualifi ed for the provincials in Whitby in the C Division and will face Brampton, Kitchener-Waterloo and Gloucester starting Sunday. Club at North Halton member Reg Finlayson captured the Super Seniors' title for the second year in a row at this week's Golf Association of Ontario Se- nior Men's Amateur Championship at the Sunningdale course in London. Finlayson, a 72-year-old Georgetown resident, shot rounds of 74-77-80 to fi n- ish in a tie for 48th overall at 15 over par, the best score in the 70+ age group. With that result, Finlayson qualifi es for the Canadian Senior Men's Amateur Championships, to be held Aug. 27-30 at The Briars Golf Club in Sutton, Ont. North Halton member Mary Ann Hay- ward held a big lead at the GAO Senior Women's Amateur in Stratford heading into today's fi nal round. Tyke #2 Bulldogs tops in Fergus
