This is a great way to raise $50,000 for the Georgetown Hospital expan- sion. Our fi rst target of 100,000 km was met and has resulted in Canadian Tire fulfi lling its pledge of $20,000 to the Georgetown Hospi- tal expansion. We are well on our way toward the 200,000 km goal. Councillor Jane Fogal is organizing a Georgetown to Acton bike ride to the Leather- town Festival on August 11. There is no charge for this event, but reg- istration is requested by emailing hhcycling@ haltonhills.ca. It's worth the ride to Acton! • • • The Canadian Asso- ciation of Municipal Administrators recently recognized the Town with the prestigious 2013 National Mu- nicipal Environmental Award for the Town's "Sustainability Implications" worksheet. • • • Food banks are often forgotten in the summer and usually remembered only at Christmas time. It is as im- portant to give them your support in the summer. Please contact your lo- cal food bank to see what items are needed.
