Willow Park Ecology Centre is a mod- el for 15 years of success through volun- teers and partnerships. The ecology of Willow Park has evolved from a degraded floodplain to early suc- cession, hosting a diverse array of wild- life and flora along the Credit River in Norval. Over the last 15 years, the dedicated and energetic volunteers, in partnership with Town of Halton Hills Council and staff, have led to the establishment and maintenance of several park features and key habitat areas. This allowed their vi- sion to deliver invaluable education and recreation programs in north Halton to become a reality. Ongoing monitoring programs give insight into the resil- ience of its ecology and future needs. Come see for yourself on Sunday, September 29, be- tween 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. dur- ing the Town of Halton Hills Doors Open--Norval event. You may experience this unique park of Halton Hills through self-guided tours, Scavenger Hunts and hands-on creative and crafty projects. The park will host Anthony Barr of the Sacred Sevens Heal- ing & Drum Circle in a spiritually up- lifting Drum Circle (open to the public) starting at 1 p.m. Don't have a drum? Between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. join Carolyn Martin on your own or with family and friends, to create your own drum. Or use one of the instru- ments provided onsite. At 2:30 p.m., both the recent and founding-member volunteers will be honoured during the 15th Anniver- sary Volunteer Appreciation Award Cer- emony.
