In short, a soft liner acts as a cushion or shock absorber between the hard plastic base of a denture and the gums. Soft liners can be used in the fabrication of new dentures or placed in existing denture. Permanent soft liners provide comfort and relief for individuals with: Severely receded or flat gums that do not tolerate the stress of dentures Chronic soreness Gums with prominent or sharp bony areas WE BUILD BEAUTIFUL SMILES! Consultations are always free!! Advantages of soft liners Greater comfort (a significant number of denture wearers with chronic discomfort have experienced great relief) Clinical evidence indicates that almost everyone tolerates soft liner materials With soft liners, many denture wearers report that they can chew food more comfortably A proven technology, soft liners have been offered to patients for over 30 years, and over the time the materials and technology have steadily improved. Give our office a call to book an appointment, to see if you might benefit from a soft liner. CHURCHES &TEMPLES GEORGETOWN CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH welcomes you! Professional Arts Building 99 Sinclair Ave., Suite 210, Georgetown 905-873-6642 Serving the community of Halton Hills and surrounding areas since 1992 DISTRACTIONS WHILE DRIVING The Georgetown You have probably heard recently, that legislation has been passed that will target drivers using cell phones while operating a motor vehicle. We all know that distractions are a dangerous combination and common part of driving on today's congested roadways. Any way to lessen the number of distractions faced daily would greatly help one to focus on the task at hand, and get on with their day. At the Georgetown Hearing Clinic, we do not condone the use of cell phones while driving, but when absolutely necessary, a hands free device, such as a speaker phone, Onstar™ or a bluetooth connected earpiece can be very useful and help reduce distraction - not to mention allow the driver the use of both hands. At The Georgetown Hearing Clinic, we provide a wide variety of custom fit and non custom fit bluetooth hands free devices. The Georgetown Raiders find themselves in unfamiliar territory after a rough stretch of games over the past couple of weeks, with the latest loss coming against the Jr. Sabres in Buffalo by a 5-2 count Monday evening. After a 2-0-0 start to the Ontar- io Junior Hockey League's regu- lar season, the 4-6-1 Raiders have won just twice in the past nine games and are in fourth spot in the West Division behind former cellar-dwellers such as Hamilton and Milton despite playing more games than anyone else in the 22- team league. They've actually scored the first goal in eight of those contests and have outshot their opponents on most nights but that hasn't trans- lated into many victories to this point. Liam Board and Richard Court were the Georgetown goal scorers Monday. The Halton Hills novice AE Thunder took top spot at an early bird tourney in Orangeville. Team members (front, from left) are: Cam- eron D'Amico, Ronan Harrison, Sydney Hood, Lucas Denning, Jaden DeZeeuw, Kyle Targett, Thomas Harney. Second row: Jackson Gognan- vic, Chris Cuthbertson, Riley Targett, Krozly Vassos, Deacon King, Jack Monday, Josh Cheeseman, Evan Wright, Victoria Price, Zach Van Damme. Back row: Assistant coach Brian Krafzcek, head coach Dan King, assistant coach Johnny Bulhouse, trainer Dave Hood. Absent: Manager Valerie Petryniak. Submitted photo The first-ever tournament win for the new Halton Hills Thunder Minor Hockey As- sociation was achieved by the novice additional entry rep squad at the recent Orangeville Early Bird event with a 2-1 vic- tory over the Vaughan Rangers in the final. This is the first season for the Thunder following the amalgamation of the George- town and Acton minor hockey associations took effect last month. Acton's Mike Courvoisier tal- lied with just less than three min- utes left in the final frame to send the contest into extra time. Vet- erans Phil Kiss and Liam Board had the other Georgetown goals and Michael Stiliadis registered the W in goal for the Raiders, who outshot the Jr. Canadiens 47-26 in front of many scouts from the pro, post-secondary and junior ranks. Against visiting Whitby Sat- urday, the Raiders again built an early 2-0 lead before the Fury cap- italized on a couple of defensive zone gaffes by the home side and scored twice in the third period to earn the two points. Anthony Marra and John Adams had the Georgetown goals. This weekend, the Raiders will host the Milton IceHawks Satur- day at 7:30 p.m. followed by a trip to Stouffville Sunday afternoon. Slumping Raiders fall to fourth place
