- Towercliffe House at 9899 Highway #25 shows the magnificent stone house with family members of builder Joseph Edwin Whiting Bates. Bates moved to the area in 1886, operated a stone quarry at Lot 11, Con. 2 and built this home for his family, not too long before this photo was commissioned.
