The Studio Shows, staged in the in- timate and accessible space at 33 Stewarttown Rd, aim at offering audiences a somewhat edgier and more provocative night of theatre than is the norm of GLT's mainstage produc- tions. Come out to see these two one-actor shows starring Aidan Hammond and Ian O'Brien respectivly and both directed by Ken Smith. Those familiar with tF- ML's past productions and local playwright O'Brien's writing style will fi nd similarities in both these pieces. See Bob Run comes from award-win- ning Canadian playwright Daniel Ma- civor. It's a one woman play about Bob and her journey to "the water" where she hopes she can wash away the brutal reality of her past and enter a fantasy of "the most perfect pretend". Thom Pain (Based On Nothing) by Will Eno was a fi nalist for the 2005 Pulitzer Prize. The New York Times de- scribed "Thom Pain is at bot- tom a surreal meditation on the empty promises life makes, the way ex- perience never lives up to the weird and awe- some fact of being. But it is also, in its odd, be- witching beauty, an affi r- mation of life's worth... a small masterpiece." Performance dates are February 28th and March 1st and 2nd. Tickets are $10 at the door, or pay what you can (partial proceeds will be donated to Canadian Association of Mental Health).
