It was the vault where the Sandro member made his biggest improve- ment. After fi nishing eighth in the event on the opening day, Sandro came back to earn the top mark (14.700) on day two. His combined score earned him the silver medal on vault and the Georgetown resident picked up a sec- ond medal with a bronze on the rings. Sandro placed in the top six, in a fi eld of 19, in every event. He was fourth on pommel horse, fi fth on par- allel bars and sixth on both high bar and fl oor. His two-day overall score of 165.000 topped runner-up Darian Mo- dasi of Mississauga at 164.100. Sandro was in tied for third place in the all-around after posting a score of 81.900 on the opening day. The next day, he improved his score in every event except the pommel horse, fi nish- ing with 83.100 and moving him into fi rst all-around. Sandro's Gold Medal Gymnas- tics teammate Ryan Oehrlein of Ger- ogetown also landed on the podium, fi nishing third in the tyro division. Like Sandro, Oehrlein came up with a big performance on the day two, earning the second highest all- around score of the day, 75.350, just .05 behind the gold medalist. Oehrlein earned three event med- als, including the gold on rings, where his score of 28.900 was almost two full points ahead of his nearest rival. He also took the silver medal on fl oor and added bronze medals on parallel bars and vault.
