Bring home a Spring Arrival this Easter Weekend! YOU AND YOUR PET Eve is a beautiful grey tabby with pure white chest and socks approximately 3-4 years old. Eve's ideal home would be as an "only" cat. She could manage any dog as long as you know she will "put it in its place" once that is done, a relationship could evolve. We think this is the result of Eve having been on the lam. Her microchip traces several owners all over Halton Region and ends with her being abandoned in a barn near Acton. Not one person, when contacted, would admit Eve belonged to them. We feel that this is why Eve, who had to fend for herself, now likes life to unfold under her or- chestration. For instance, when she wants to be petted, she will let you know and she wants a family to respect this. A quiet home where she can live on her terms is required; she would be perfect for the working family-- without children of any age-- as she is an independent girl. Call Shelter, 519-833-2287 or e-mail adoptions@uppercredit.com to meet her. Eve lives life on her terms Photo by Claudia Duijsens Hephner is a beautiful four-year-old cross who arrived at the Shelter several weeks ago. Hephner's background has been one of constant upheaval and this lovely lad just wants a stable home and lots of love. The Staff fi nd Hephner very friendly, and the most willing recipient of any love and attention that comes his way. Timid at fi rst in his interactions with new people, he would soon learn the ropes of what is needed as he always looks to his handler for direction. A stable home would allow him to gain more confi dence and bring happiness to those heart-wrenching sad eyes. Hephner possesses a very distinct bark and would be excellent letting his family know that people are approaching "his" house, yet he does not overdo it. As with most of our Shelter dogs Heph- ner loves ball play, adores his toys and shows his sweet side even when playing "tug of war" as he will always let YOU win! Extra pluses are that he walks well on leash and keeps his kennel clean. His caregivers say that he has a gentle personality and there is something in his gaze which refl ects, that though life has been a roller coaster, he still trusts and wants to be your loyal friend. Hephner is good with other dogs: out- going yet he is submissive in play-- not as yet tested with cats. This boy would make a lovely, loving companion with his playful but laid back nature and could offer you ev- erything you would want. Call the Shelter, 519-833-2287 or e-mail adoptions@upper- credit.com to make his day. Hephner's sad eyes beg for a home Luna has traumatic past: she was un- loaded from a car and left on a rural lane with her two-week-old kittens as the ho- meowners watched from the house. Her fi rst foster home with her kittens suffered a basement fi re and she was adopted on a trial basis but was reluctantly returned because of allergies just as she was settling in. Although now content in a foster home it is time for Luna to have a new home where she will feel safe and loved. Some cats bully her, perhaps sensing her unease. She would be more comfortable with older male cats or as an only cat and was not con- cerned by a friendly dog. Luna has come a long way trusting peo- ple: she now loves to be petted and groomed, rolling around to get scratches everywhere and she sleeps on the bed just touching her people. She has a short sleek soft black coat and beautiful yellow-orange eyes. Luna is about two and loves to play with toys and interact with people. Luna will need patient people to help her feel safe in her new home but it will be worth the time.
