Sylvia 'followed' Greg home from the park, and his wife Kate is less than impressed, viewing the dog more as competition, than a pet. Amiliah Goodrich was without a doubt, nothing short of spec- tacular as the high energy Sylvia. Her dialogue was rapid-fi re and on cue, and her body language was somewhere between a bor- der collie and a golden retriever. She was all over the stage, jump- ing up on people, sniffi ng crotch- es and twitching with excitement when Greg scratched behind her ear-- she was the hit of the show, an excellent 'dog'. Bart Penwarden as Greg, was perfect to play opposite her. His dialogue was on par with Goo- drich, as he was jerked around by her lease, symbolically caught between his wife and his dog. Lisa Rasanen, as his wife Kate, was also a great choice. Her exasperation was evident as she tried to accept the dog, which she saw encroaching on her marriage, viewing the dog as 'the other woman' at times. Tom, a friend in the park, was played by Cory Sanders, adding another dog fanatic, happy to dispense less than accurate ad- vice to the hapless Greg. Pamela Niesiobedzki-Curtis took the part of Kate's friend, the misguided Phyllis, the target of Sylvia's sniffi ng rampage. That scene alone made her part memo- rable. Dan Olien played counselor Leslie, a questionable psychiatrist who was a basket case himself. The dialogue has a few 'salty' phrases, so anyone offended by an occasional 'f-bomb' is pre- warned. Don't miss this one-- it's a keeper.
